Description

The Honda CB750 is considered the world’s first superbike and was introduced in 1969. It was the first motorcycle to offer disc brakes and four-cylinder in-line engine on a production motorcycle. Honda of Japan introduced the CB750 motorcycle to the US and European markets in 1969 after experiencing success with its smaller motorcycles. The CB750 engine set a new standard, both in power and usability. The beginnings of the CB750 went back to early 1968. Honda was about to withdraw from Grand Prix racing, and with their flagship CB450 struggling in the marketplace Soichiro Honda had an idea to produce a “King of Motorcycles”. The CB750 was an instant success and became a cultural icon. It was the first motorcycle that could be ridden long distances at high speeds without breaking down. The bike was also used by police departments around the world due to its reliability and performance. Today, it is still considered one of the most important motorcycles ever made and is highly sought after by collectors.
