Known for their harvesters worldwide today, the company was initially established for the manufacturing of milk centrifuges in 1887. The technical development of agricultural machinery began in the year 1900. The patented „Knoter“ (a machine to bundle straw) made this company famous in 1921. Until today, the company Claas is run as a family enterprise.
