Who is not familiar with pictures of sparsely dressed women in lascivious poses that decorate the walls of workshops and interiors of lockers since the 1920s. The pictures were developed from illustrations of dime novels, magazines or their covers. Then, even the front pages of respectable magazines like the Times were illustrated with pin-ups.
